Call it the Isabel Marant factor. Something happened when the French designer sent models down her fall 2010 runway in rolled skinny pants, borrowed-from-a-boy jackets, and pointed-toe pumps. The style set took notice. The look was part ’50s rebel, part urban cool girl, and that tapered toe was key.
Pointed toes are sticking around for spring, played tough or soft, dressed up for work or down for play. Try a pair of Schutz pumps with a sleek DVF dress, or Kate Spades heels with cropped pants and a diaphanous top. Elizabeth and James did an inset platform for a little extra lift, and Giuseppe Zanotti offers up a classic silhouette that will live in wardrobes for years.
Tell me, will you try pointed-toe pumps this season? How will you wear them?
