Perfect Pleats | "Wear to Where" on Greer's OC

Transitional wardrobe pieces are a must here in Orange County and Pleats are your best bet this Fall. While most consider it a luxury, the warm weather doesn’t permit us to indulge in the chunky sweaters, scarves and boots of fall until well into the season and, for the fashion obsessed, the anticipation can sometimes be torture... Get to the Point

Call it the Isabel Marant factor. Something happened when the French designer sent models down her fall 2010 runway in rolled skinny pants, borrowed-from-a-boy jackets, and pointed-toe pumps. The style set took notice. The look was part ’50s rebel, part urban cool girl, and that tapered toe was key.
Pointed toes are sticking around for spring, played tough or soft, dressed up for work or down for play. Try a pair of  Schutz pumps with a sleek DVF dress, or Kate Spades heels with cropped pants and a diaphanous top. Elizabeth and James did an inset platform for a little extra lift, and Giuseppe Zanotti offers up a classic silhouette that will live in wardrobes for years.
Tell me, will you try pointed-toe pumps this season? How will you wear them?

All About the Blouse

The item making the biggest appearance on my shopping list and rolling rack this past week had to be the blouse. From jewel toned silks to floral peasants, geometric chiffons to basic cotton and everything else in between. A closet staple and a must have in every woman's closet, if you don't own any, you're missing out!

Eyes on Wide

It must be said that wide-leg pants are not for everyone. It's for that reason that they've never been the dominant style to conquer the streets (not in the average fashioners' lifetime, anyway) and, while we count them among 2011 spring trends, we don't expect their lack of mass popularity change in a hurry. Skinnies have a long life left in them yet; but this is an year in which flare are on-trend, and wide leg pants are there alongside them. But while the wide-leg may not become your new wardrobe staple just yet, don't overlook it as an elegant, stylish addition to your 2011 repertoire, particularly when styled right.

Invest in a Classic

The perfect transition piece leading into Spring has to be a Cream Blazer. I picked up a Chloe stunner recently and I am loving it right now with skinny jeans, lots of gold accessories and tan clogs. But come April, I'll definitely be pairing it with all my spring dresses.
