Lashing Out | Wear to Where on Greer's OC
I think my beauty routine has officially been changed forever by Beau Monde Beauty. Recently I was getting my makeup done for a photo shoot and Nikki Lee, artist and owner of Beau Monde, suggested I ditch the store bought clumps that I often use on my non-existant eyelashes and instead get extensions from her lash specialist Mallorie Mason. I was a little apprehensive about the whole process, but Nikki assured me the results would be transformative. (Read full Post)

Rachel Roy Style Week OC | GreersOC.com
The 4th annual Style Week Orange County returned to Irvine Spectrum and their newest location Fashion Island last week, neither disappointed. The Irvine Company’s weeklong event featured: designer appearances, fashion shows, in-store events and a fabulous food festival.
OC’s biggest week in fashion aims to highlight emerging designers, notable style makers as well a hot local brands. Two of America’s top designers; David Meister and Rachel Roy were among the heavy hitters in attendance showing their latest collections. Project Runway’s Alum Nick Verreos, TV personality Mario Lopez, Celebrity Chef Jamie Gwen and my friend Stylist Taylor Jacobson also made appearances.
After several events at both locations I was most excited to see Rachel Roy’s Fall 2011 show which was followed by a meet and greet where I got to sit down with the Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA) inductee for an intimate conversation. Roy’s Fall 2011 collection was a beautiful lesson in eclectic layering and styling. Cashmere blazers, vests, necktie blouses, wrap dresses, tweed skirts and carrot pants in jewel tones, floral prints, and stripes gave both the bohemians and the ladies who lunch something to go on about. I also adored the the Heidi braids the models wore in their hair which I think complimented the collection nicely. Known for her feminine and sophisticated pieces it’s no wonder why she calls confident and effortlessly elegant women like First Lady Michelle Obama and actresses Hale Berry, Kate Hudson and Gwyneth Paltrow as her clients. Oprah Winfrey once touted that Roy would be “the next big name in fashion.” Guess she was right . . . . .

Play | Jump | Romp
It was only a few short years ago that cutesy playsuits and rompers were a summer must-have (albeit a short lived one). Well, as fashion would dictate it, one-piece anythings are back in style. From overalls to jumpsuits, to playsuits and rompers, these one piece cuts are an option for fashionisers looking for pieces for their Spring 2011 wardrobe. And for those who are, they can rest assured knowing that any investment pieces, particularly statement playsuits, will be a worthy investment with the one piece styles on the cards as sitting amongst spring 2011 fashion trends.

Season after season, huge tonal trends always shine through... shades go deep and dark, or alternately, bold and bright. Rules to Shop By - Sale
1. Don't buy anything on sale that you wouldn't consider at full
price. (because you'll have a closet full of stuff you'll NEVER wear!)
2. Learn the markdown schedule at your favorite stores.
3. Shop sales on Friday nights, when stores tend to be emptier.
4. Use end of season sales to stockup on classics.
5. Befriend a sales person; he or she might put sale items aside

Leslie's Ten Rules of Shopping
1. Always try it on, and always sit down in it.
2. Be sure you know the stores return policy.
3. If you are unsure about a big-ticket item, put it on hold for 24 hours and think it over.
4. Don't buy anything that doesn't flatter you or isn't comfortable, no matter how of-the-moment it is.
5. If you have to talk yourself into a purchase in the dressing room, pass on it.
6. In a shopping emergency, go for shapes or labels you know you can count on.
7. If there's nothing in your closet to wear with it, skip it.
8. Really amazing one-of-a-kind items will disappear; if you fall in love with one, buy it right away.
9. Never purchase something just because it looks good on someone else.
10. If you can't stop thinking about an item, go back and get it instantly.

Shop Your Closet - Sisterhood Style

If these are traveling pants, I want them sent to my house! I Love that she sporting the high waist with a rolled crop navy blue pants (if you don't have pants like these swap them out for jeans), paired with a simple t-shirt. Then she mixes it up with a girly pair of t-strap heels and tough studded handbag (which by the way are both from H&M). But the Pièce de résistance is the classic trench, if you don't own one, please invest in one. They're classic and timeless and work in any season.
